Importance of the K-12 Education System

K-12 education is an innovative education system. This area of education has a dominance over the conventional educational systems as it puts more weight on thinking and reaching own self-explanatory conclusions.
The way of teaching here is completely different and phenomenal. Teachers generally follow the tactic of asking students to work on a lot of assignments since it develops an intellectual, yet interesting learning habit. In reality, this method helps the students in revising what has been taught previously. In K-12 education system, all the students are given individual attention and hence they understand their subjects in a more practical way. The role of a teacher here is just to guide them in the right way and provide them with learning opportunities. What really happens is that, the individual discovers his own learning capacity and success depends on the thinking ability of the student.
The classroom activities might be similar to what is being practiced in a public school where students go and get their notes and submit records but the key difference is that her in K-12 classes, the students are encouraged to bring about their personal thoughts and visions. Students enroll themselves in different forums and educational clubs where they get to discuss many points for the same topic and get different views. The teachers here contribute so much as to turning every discussion into a positive note cooperating with the students.
K-12 education system has revolutionized the education system in India. Over the years, the level of education system and syllabus has greatly improved in time. The K-12 segment accounts for the lion's share of India's educational market. Students are provided with the ultimate learning opportunities. The school invests thousands of dollars in bringing the best infrastructures. It is also equally important that the student utilizes this system in best possible ways. He must always evaluate the available information to jump to a rational ending. This is the type of educational platform any student can experience in the K-12 program. Therefore, it is no surprise that this methodology is being introduced by most educational institutions in India.
The traditional learning styles have their own merits, but this new and innovative education strategy is superior in that. It helps the students work individualistically and find solutions on their own. This strategy makes students self-determining, reliable and indulgent. It also improves the relation between the teacher and students and brings a warm classroom atmosphere. Such a harmonious atmosphere can create masterminds who, in the long run, can become assets not only to the school but to the society as a whole.

Diversity In K-12 Schools

In Maryland Public Schools administrators are contemplating integrating student bodies based on income integration. Currently schools in an area have either mostly poor or mostly rich kids, depending on the area and if the schools is located in the district that is "ghetto" or one of a nice community. By having this segregation of districts, which keep kids that don't live in a particular district from attending a particular school, it creates an income based segregation, which now Maryland is trying to change. By having the district schools lines around areas that are bad or good, they are creating school that have a certain degree of segregation without knowing it.
In general, having district lines might have an organizational benefit and create ease for the schools when determining who their student base will be, but it also has its downsides. By confining students to having to live in a certain area in order to attend a specific school, it creates an income-based segregation, depending on the area that the district is confined to. Schools think that by having the district lines it makes the schools have more ease when figuring out how students are to be divided to the different schools in the area. This could be a good thing so it keeps the schools organized and helps them to create boundaries that are always well needed when figuring out how to divide thousands of students.
The negative things that districts create are the fact that they create income-based segregation in schools. This is bad because the schools don't have the opportunity to teach a variety of students and have the opportunity to showcase their teaching skills for students or different incomes. When a school is confined to just one niche, such as helping the poor students to excel in school and motivate them to get college grants and further their education, this doesn't give the school much opportunity to help other students. As good as the school can be to help this one type of students, id they aren't well rounded and can't help all the students to be able to excel, then the school isn't the best that it could be.
Schools are always concerned with achieving great school ratings and becoming the best of the best. Schools need to have a variety of students and have different income based students to become a well-rounded school that has opportunity's for all students. A good way to integrate a variety of students into a school would be to allow all students from any area to attend a school. Not only will this help with overcrowding of school districts but it will bring a variety of incomes and different students with different backgrounds into the schools. Overall this will help the schools to become more diverse and to have better opportunity's to achieve greatness. Students will have a better start at life if they experience school with a better diversity, because in real life, all people have different economic backgrounds and its important for students to be associated with all type of people to better their lives and help them to excel in their social and career lives in the future.

Many Remember and Most Were Not All That Impressed

Often we discuss education at our think tank, and it is a hot topic these days with all the political promises of education reform, and of course all those massive budget cuts, teacher lay-offs, and the media reporting dropout rates that are far too high. You can talk to just about anyone who had gone through k-12 and they will tell you about their experiences with the education in our nation. Many people have given high grades and high praises, but most people were a little underwhelmed.
Some folks later complain that their K-12 education, not only here but also in Europe and other advanced societies, was less than adequate. Not long ago I was having this discussion with an acquaintance, and he indicated to me that he had had problems in school being of a very high IQ, and basically being a creative genius - and it has bothered him ever sense. He worries for other superstars of humanity who bring their intellect and future gifts to the world, as being stifled early on.
After he outlined all the problems that he thought is wrong with modern education, and giving specific examples of how he believed it had affected himself, he asked me what I thought of our educational system and said; "How is your life in this respect?"
Well, I saw K-12 as a prison for kids, it couldn't contain my mind, so I mostly got A's and B's and sketched pictures, doodled, made catchy poems, and thought about other stuff, pretty bored. It was almost as if school was purposely trying to dummy down the minds of all those sitting in the classrooms, I had too much energy, I liked to run, jump, accelerate, play sports, ride my bike, skateboard, school was therefore a prison, except as I got older, I was intrigued by all the girls, which helped me forget I was having my time wasted day-after-day.
Indeed, I always took the hardest classes, and studied those subjects I enjoyed, did a little homework. Whatever, it's the wrong way to educate kids, it's a problem. One, I suppose will eventually cause a revolution in education and change that institution forever, in fact, I think it is happening now and I'd say it's about time!
If I had it to do over today, I'd study on the Internet and skip it, it's a waste of time, politically unfixable, and we aren't doing ourselves or our society any good continuing these archaic methods of teaching. "But hey, thanks for asking anyway?" I told my acquaintance.

A Review of K 12 Education

The compulsory attendance of children to go to school starting at the age of six to up nineteen in the thirteenth grade is called the K 12 educational system. Learning about a little bit of the background of this type of educational system makes it easier to understand its overall concept of teaching.
The first grade, kindergarten was created by a philosopher German teacher named Friedrich Froebel who wanted to create a place for young children to learn from their guided playing and enable them to bloom with their individual minds and initial learning. This grade was created long before K 12 education system was followed and which started in America in about 1856. At that time, education was not yet compulsory nor not all children have access to attend school. Kindergarten was usually taught to the children of the elite who do not have to work in their family's farms.
In 1918, the Fisher Act helped the formulation of the K 12 education that is familiar today. The law started the recognition of the education for children with special needs and raised the age to fourteen when children can leave schooling. After the Act, separate states have separate regulations regarding their educational systems. Most of the educational schooling available after the following years are usually headed by religious communities. In 1925, the Supreme Court allowed either public or private schooling for children..
After so many years, the states have formed their own departments of education to handle the education of the children. Funding resources also became available from federal, state, and local sources.
K 12 educational system have been established when the 1950's came. Social status discrimination was evident having only children of the elite can be schooled. Some social biases also occurred as segregation were prevalent in public schools but it was abolished in 1954.
Since then, the educational system worked for most of all of the states. And in 2002 the No Child Left Behind campaign approved by then President Bush that enables parents to choose the school where they will be sending their children.
Arguably many parents have find K 12 not effective in their children's education and opt for other alternative learning systems like home schooling and community schools. Some even have online teaching to educate their kids. The only challenge in these alternative options are the educational credits for the children. But surprisingly, the government have become more accommodating of the other learning options as time has passed by.
Government has made it possible to provide free education in public schools to children up to the 12th grade. Private schools are usually expensive because parents have to pay for the tuition that they require. Many of the children going under K 12 educational system are enjoying its benefits at school by bringing out their best selves and skills. The system will change undoubtedly in due time because of the constant changes in the socio-political atmosphere. What we know as now may radically change given a few decades.
